Sanjay Raut defends Emergency by saying Balasaheb Thakrey and RSS supported it. Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced June 25 to be observed as ‘Samvidhan Hatya Diwas’ as remark of Emergency that was imposed by Indira Gandhi in 1975.
Shiv Sena says that Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has no work left to do and they only wants to mislead the people as they don’t have majority in parliament.
Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut spoke to news agency ANI, that Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thakrey and RSS had supported the Emergency. Raut said,”Emergency was imposed because some people wanted to spread anarchy and were preparing bombs in the country.”
“BJP have no work left. It has been 50 years and people have also forgotten the Emergency,” Raut said.
“Why was Emergency imposed in country? Some people wanted to spread anarchy in the country. An open announcement was made from Ramlila Maidan, our jawans and army were asked not to follow the orders of the government,” said Sanjay Raut.
“So in such situation, if Atal Bihari Vajpayee had been the Prime Minister, he would have imposed the same decision. It was a matter of national security, and some people were anonymously making bombs in the country and were planting bombs at various locations to create chaos. Shiv Sena founder had openly supported Emergency at that time. Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh had also supported it,” Raut further added.
Ajay Alok, a BJP leader said Sanjay Raut’s information is “meaningless and pointless.”
“He don’t even remember Balasaheb Thakrey, how will he remember ‘Samvidhan Hatya Diwas’? This day is important because our current and future generation should know about Past events how fundamental rights of Indians were taken away from them,” said Ajay Alok to Press Trust of India.
