In Puri, Ratna Bhandar treasure was opened after 46 years. Shocking news is no reptiles or snakes found in the treasure. The opening event of Ratna Bhandar was well prepared.
From many years it was believed that Snaked and reptiles guard the Ratna Bhandar at Puri Jagannath Temple. However, this tale found to be shocking as no snakes or reptiles found when it was opened on Sunday. “We did not found any snakes, insects or reptiles,” Puri district collector Siddharth Shankar Swain told Times of India.
As a belief that snakes guard the treasure, Government deployed Snake Helpline at the Shrine.
Overall 11 members of Snake Helpline were deployed. Out of which 3 members stood outside Ratna Bhandar for any emergency, and ensured safety of those members who entered the treasure.
District Hospitals of Puri were asked to be ready with stock of antivenoms.
“We were completely ready with our equipment till the end of opening of the Ratna Bhandar, however, no service was required as no snakes or reptiles were found,” said general secretary of Snake Helpline.
Retired Justice Biswanath Rath said,”Rumours were spread that those who open Ratna Bhandar-the valuable inventory, would face health issues. All the people involved in opening of Ratna Bhandar were safe after opening.”
The complete security was placed around Temple on Sunday during opening of the valuable treasure of the valuable inventory which was opened after 46 years.
The inventory was shifted to temporary storage room inside the temple. The government has launched the security in and around the shrine to protect the inventory.
A large number of Action Force along with state police have been deployed at Jagannath Temple.
The process was started with all the rituals after obtaining permission from Loknath temple. The protector of this treasure is Lord Lokanath.
The opening was started sharp at 10 am. As soon as the ‘agnya mala’ came, devotee chanted “Har Har Mahadev” and “Jai Jagannath.” Some rituals were also conducted at Jagannath Temple as well.
During opening , many devotees visited Puri Temple. A large number of people and devotees were gathered in front of temple.
